Year 2 students perform skits from Sophocles' tragedy, Antigone in Ms Smith's English class. When students embody characters from a play, it deepens their understanding of the character's feelings and motivations!
Students utilize the Graduate Outcomes of Respectful Collaborators, Effective Communicators, and Engaged Citizens to craft their skit- then the class votes on the best performances, just like in Ancient Greece! The winners are honored with a wreath!

On October 15th, BCCI students toured White Labs to learn about careers in the fermentation and yeast production industry, including operations, lab technician (quality control), logistics, and engineering.
Students in Ms Smith's walking interest group explore the AB Tech campus to get a view of Blue Ridge horizons. Interest groups bring mixed grade level groups of students together around a common interest and happen every Friday.
Year 1 BCEC students present their Solar System Exploration projects to their classmates. Students profiled a solar system destination of their choosing before educating their peers on that destination.
Students met for the first All School Meeting last Wednesday headed up by the Trailblazers! Highlights included a visit from BCEC/BCCI alumni, guitar interludes, and a Fall quiz game!

BCEC and BCCI students showed their school spirit in round 2 of the Color Wars. Students competed in a relay race, three-legged race, wig snatch, and capture the flag. Once all the points were tallied up, the second years came in 1st place!
