We'd like to welcome Dr. Angie Jackson to the BCEC/BCCI team. She will be serving as our new Assistant Principal. Dr. Jackson has over 30 years of experience in education and is a familiar face to many in BCS. Her expertise as a former teacher and administrator will be a perfect fit for our team. She will support our students, staff and schools as we launch the 2025-2026 school year.
Welcome to our new Health and PE instructor, Mr. Chuck Thompson. We are excited to add Health and Physical Education to our campus for both BCEC and BCCI this school year. Mr. Thompson will be collaborating with our BCCI team to incorporate the career pathways that are connected with the PE profession. 📔📔BCEC 1st Years Supplies List!✏️✏️ The most important thing to bring to BCEC is a positive attitude and lots of excitement 😊😊😊 Other than that you need just a few basic supplies to get off to a good start. We STRONGLY encourage all year ones to have an agenda to write down assignments. Check out the supplies list attached.

- All graduating students should plan to have their photo taken for use in the yearbook and graduation slide show.
- There is no upfront cost to have your photo made. Proofs will be sent to you and you can order photos if you'd like.
- A makeup session is scheduled for Wednesday, January 28, 2026.

Last week our BCEC first years were able to go to the Appalachian Highlands Science Learning Center . Student spent the day enjoying the scenery and categorizing insects and lichen.
Last week, Mr. Summer's year 3students stepped into the courtroom to put "The Yellow Wallpaper" on trial! 🧠🗣️ Was the narrator truly unstable, or was she a victim of medical and societal neglect? Teams argued passionately for and against institutionalization, citing evidence, historical context, and modern mental health insights. Our last month of school is upon us! Exams are right around the corner and start May 23rd. A final exam schedule will go out later this month, please be on the look out for that. 📝
We wanted to take this time on National Principals' Day to thank our own Mrs. Anna Austin. Both teachers and students know that her door is rarely closed and all are welcomed to talk with her about problems big and small!
