Parent Involvement and Communications

Maintaining proactive communication and parent involvement is an integral part of the operation and improvement of our school.  Early College faculty and staff pledge to keep in touch with parents regularly, particularly if they have concerns about a student. In order to do so, parents need to keep their mailing address, phone numbers and emails current. Should any of these methods of contact change, parents should let the front office know immediately.


PowerSchool -- Parent Portal

The Parent Portal through PowerSchool gives parents access to much information about their student’s assignments, grades, and attendance.  Information in PowerSchool also populates to our SchoolMessenger, which is our primary vehicle for broad communication with students and families.

Grade Information

All parents have access to the PowerSchool Parent Portal and can view their student’s attendance, current grades and other resources. The parent portal has a single sign-on access, meaning that parents will be able to monitor all of their children’s progress with one username and password.

While parents do not have direct access to their student’s college assignments and grades on A-B Tech’s Moodle, students can log in to the Moodle account for each college course and show their parents both assignments and grades.  Additional information is available through A-B Tech’s Web Advisor, which provides students’ access to a great deal of personalized college information including course schedules, a degree progress report, and unofficial college transcripts.

BCEC has several different opportunities for parent volunteers.  Interested volunteers must complete an application through Volunteer Tracker.
