Hefner, Rebecca
I am pleased to be teaching at BCEC this year as the Honors English 4, English 111, and mini-mester English 111 and 112 teacher.
I began my teaching career teaching high school English in New York state. I received both my Bachelors (Secondary Education - English) and Masters (English) degrees at the State University of New Paltz. Upon moving to the South, I added AIG licensure, AP Literature certification, and National Board certification (twice).
Prior to joining the BCEC staff, I worked at Catawba County schools as a high school English teacher and department chair. I have been teaching for 24 years, predominately high school. I also taught English and writing classes at Catawba Valley Community College for five years.
I firmly believe that English literature and language skills are the best subjects to study. I hope to share that passion with my students.
Course syllabi will be posted on Moodle for the spring semester as those are college classes and we will be following the guidelines and expectations for the college classes.
