Each year BCEC enrolls a cohort of
approximately 60 ninth grade students which brings our total enrollment
to no more than 300 students within all five grade levels. BCEC offers
all students an opportunity to achieve success in college and the
workforce, with a particular emphasis on serving students who are
underrepresented in the college-going population.
College students are interested in being part of a close community of
learners. Students must be capable of college level work and must have
the maturity to handle the college campus environment. Our students
reflect the diversity of Buncombe County Schools, both in terms of
demographics and academic ability. Some students clearly have a proven
track record of academic success, while other students may have had poor
attendance or failing grades. However, all students are here because
they have the desire to succeed.
